Sundays
We meet on Sunday at 10:30am
at Thameside School, Cotman Close, Abingdon, OX14 5NL
We welcome guests to any of our Sunday services!
Regular Sunday gatherings
Weekly gatherings of the whole church (‘church services’) including worship, teaching, prayer ministry, for adults, children and youth, refreshments, and, sometimes, food together. Sundays encourage and equip us to live the rest of our weeks for God.
Most Sundays look a bit like this…
10:20-10:30 Arrive, with free parking on site, chat and find a place to sit.
10:30 Our meeting starts with sung worship. We welcome all ages and we know different people engage in different ways, there is space for movement at the back and we often have space for children to draw/colour in response as well.
10:50 Children (5-11) leave for groups where they have fun learning more about Jesus and his plan for their lives.
11:10 Youth (11-18) go to their groups (most weeks) and adults listen to a talk, from the Bible, helping us learn more about who God is and how we get to live accordingly.
12:00 We aim to finish around midday, following time to respond, and pray. After the service we serve refreshments, enabling us to get to know one another better and build community.
On the second Sunday each month we share a simple bring-and-share lunch together after the service. If you’re a guest, please don’t bring anything for lunch, just enjoy our hospitality :-)
On the third Sunday each month we share communion as part of our service, inviting all those (children, youth and adults) that are following Jesus to join with us.
Community Sundays
A monthly one-hour all-age service, great for all-ages and guests.
These are usually the first Sunday on the month, but may move to fit with festival days. like Christmas or Easter. Community Sundays are an opportunity to be community together as ACC, in an all-age service, as well as an excellent opportunity to invite friends in our wider community to taste what we do at ACC.
10:20-10:30 Arrive, with free parking on site, chat and find a place to sit.
10:30 Our meeting starts. We welcome all ages and we know different people engage in different ways, so we have activities suitable for ages, including crafts and games. Recent overall themes include watching clips from a animated film about friendship, hearing people’s stories about God’s activity in their lives and making seasonal craft helping us think about the meaning of Christmas.
12:00 We finish by midday, and serve free refreshments, enabling us to get to know one another better.
Other events
Twice a year, instead of meeting in Abingdon, we gather with our wider family of churches, Salt & Light Advance, in Oxford.
In the summer holiday each year, we also join together with over 400 others from Advance to join the Wildfires Festival.he Advance calendar for details.
