Sundays

We meet on Sundays at 10:30am
at Thameside School, Cotman Close, Abingdon, OX14 5NL

We welcome any of you to any of our Sunday services!

Sunday services (weekly gatherings of the whole church community) include sung worship, teaching, prayer, refreshments, and, regularly, food together! Sunday services encourage and equip us to live the rest of our weeks for God. For adults, children and youth.

Most Sundays look a bit like this…

10:20-10:30 Arrive, with free parking on site, chat and find a place to sit.

10:30 We start with sung worship. We welcome all ages and we know different people engage in different ways, there is space for movement at the back and we often have space for children to draw/colour in response as well.

10:50 Children (5-11) leave for groups where they have fun learning more about Jesus and his plan for their lives.

11:10 Youth (11-18) go to their groups (most weeks) and adults listen to a talk, from the Bible, helping us learn more about who God is and how we get to live accordingly.

12:00 We aim to finish around midday, following time to respond, and pray.

After the service we serve refreshments, enabling us to get to know one another better and build community.

People gathered around a table serving themselves food at a buffet-style meal.

On the second Sunday each month we share a simple bring-and-share lunch together after the service. If you’re a guest, please don’t bring anything for lunch, just enjoy our hospitality :-)

On the third Sunday each month we share communion as part of our service, inviting all those (children, youth and adults) that are following Jesus to join with us.

Community Sundays

A monthly short all-age service, great for all-ages and guests unfamiliar with church.

Community Sundays are an opportunity to be community together as ACC, in an all-age service, as well as an excellent opportunity to invite friends in our wider community to taste what we do at ACC. Usually the first Sunday on the month, but move to fit with Christmas and Easter.

10:20-10:30 Arrive, with free parking on site, chat and find a place to sit.

10:30 Different people engage in different ways, so we have activities suitable for ages, including crafts and games. Recent themes include friendship, people’s stories about God’s activity in their lives and thinking about the meaning of Christmas, through film clips, art and craft, and short talks. We usually include a short time of sung worship.

12:00 We finish by midday, and serve free refreshments.

Salt & Light Advance

Twice a year, instead of meeting in Abingdon, we gather with our wider family of churches, Salt & Light Advance, in Oxford.

In the summer holiday each year, we also join together with over 400 others from Advance to join the Wildfires Festival.he Advance calendar for details.
